About Leigh

The Big Boss of Digital Rhapsody... The one supposedly in charge. I'm the one with the (sometimes crazy) ideas about new productions and services, then 'kindly' delegates them to someone else to worry about. I also ensure that Digital Rhapsody never gets too serious, boring or dull. Because if we wanted to be boring, we'd work somewhere else. Generally speaking, the buck stops with me.

Reimagining the Payment Gateway – Why do they cost so much?

Over the past few months, as you may recall, we have been working extremely hard to build a fantastic new platform for photographers to sell their amazing work. We call this The Horizon Gallery, and we are really excited on its progress. However, while we've been building this new platform, have found out something interesting... Payment Gateways are STILL rubbish. Don't know what a Payment Gateway is? Think PayPal, Google Pay and all the other logos you see as you shop online. The reason [...]

Best Microphones for Zoom Calls / Skype Calls / Online Presentations

This morning I received an interesting phone call from my sister-in-law from work. "What is the best microphone for a Zoom call?" she asked. After discussion what she was trying to achieve (different applications do different things) I went through several options, and she went on her merry way. But it dawned on me, the answer might help the wider community. So here is a brief overview (with suggestions) about which microphone you should get if you're asking: What is the best mic for [...]

Looking Towards a New Horizon

This week we have been based in Northern Ireland, exploring the amazing Causeway Coast. Once again, the locals have been superb and amazingly welcoming as we explored on our adventures. If you've never been to Northern Ireland - it is a MUST. The landscape is so dynamic. The changes in scenery (even within a few miles) is stunning. Finding hidden waterfalls and secretive caves to explore and capture is a daily occurrence. A wonderful country. [...]

A new way of doing things…

It's been many years since we've had the time to update our Digital Rhapsody website. A very long time... Two reasons for this really: 1) We've been busy doing many other things. 2) There simply hasn't been enough coffee to cope with the minefield of modernising our site... Until now. However, at times like these, it does give us a rare and interesting opportunity to do something different. Most business sites are very corporate and boring - with cheesy slogans and loads of stock [...]
